Boer Goat
Cortez, our only Boer goat on the farm, was given to us by someone who was looking for a good home for her. Boer goat are indigenous to South Africa and are the largest goat breed in the world. Despite their large stature, (some can exceed 300 pounds), they enjoy a reputation as a calm, docile breed. Their calm disposition makes them popular as companion goats. Cortez lives with her Nigerian dwarf family of goats and is much bigger than the rest but is very gentle to everyone. Watch your food though, like all goats, she’s crazy for the grain and she will eat it all real quick if you’re not careful.
