Rouen and Cayuga Ducks

Rouen ducks originated from France and are one of the world’s largest duck breeds. These ducks have gentle temperaments and adapt to most of their surroundings. One trait that sets them apart from other duck breeds is their preference for not flying. Their colors closely resemble that of a mallard duck. The Cayuga is recognized as one of the hardiest of domestic ducks and are easily tamed if hand raised. They are quiet and sweet but like the Rouen are not good fliers. They’re colors are black with a green tint. We have one male Rouen duck named Freedom (aka Fred) on the farm and one female Cayuga duck named Liberty (aka Libby). Both of these ducks were gifted to us and love spending time in the pond with Captain and Coraline, our capybaras.
