Meet Our Sloths
We are home to three Linnaeus's two-toed sloths (Choloepus didactylus): Grover, Ivy and Gordy. Grover and Ivy are curious, gentle souls who take part in our small, slow, intentional sloth encounters. Gordy, our youngest, is still growing into farm life.
We built a custom tropical habitat designed to mimic their natural rainforest environment, complete with climbing branches, cozy resting spots, and carefully controlled temperature and humidity to keep them comfortable year-round.
Sloth encounters are private, calm, and fully animal-led — Grover and Ivy always choose how they participate, and their comfort comes first. If you're looking for something peaceful, meaningful, and genuinely special, this is one of those moments you'll remember.
Grover, Ivy and Gordy
Grover
A curious, gentle Linnaeus's two-toed sloth and one of the two sloths guests meet during our private sloth encounter.
Ivy
Our other encounter sloth. Like Grover, Ivy decides how she takes part in a session, and some visits are quiet observation while she climbs or rests.
Gordy
Our youngest sloth. Gordy is being introduced gradually and intentionally to the habitat and the guest environment as he grows, and he is not part of the sloth encounter.
Meet Grover and Ivy
A private session inside our sloth rainforest habitat, approximately 20-30 minutes — quiet, unhurried, and built around the sloths. Exact length may vary depending on animal participation and the natural flow of the encounter.

Fun Sloth Facts
Upside-Down Living
Sloths eat, sleep, and even give birth while hanging upside down. Their internal organs are specially positioned to accommodate this lifestyle, and their fur grows from belly to back so rainwater runs right off.
A Living Ecosystem
Each strand of a sloth's fur has grooves where algae grows, giving them a greenish tint that serves as camouflage. Moths, beetles, and other tiny creatures also call their fur home.
Secret Swimmers
Despite being famously slow on land, sloths are surprisingly strong swimmers. They can drop from trees into water and swim across rivers using a breaststroke-like motion.
Super Slow Digestion
A single meal can take up to a month to fully digest. Sloths have a specialized four-chambered stomach filled with bacteria that slowly ferments tough leaves.
The Coolest Mammals
Two-toed sloths have the lowest body temperature of any mammal, ranging from 74 to 92 degrees Fahrenheit. They have so little muscle mass that they literally cannot shiver to warm up.
An Unbreakable Grip
A sloth's curved claws are so powerful that they can remain hanging from branches even after falling asleep. Sloths have been found still clinging to branches long after passing away.
Our Sloth Rainforest Habitat
A Rainforest at the Farm
Our custom-built sloth habitat is designed to replicate the warm, humid environment of the South American tropical rainforests where two-toed sloths are found in the wild. The space features a network of climbing branches at various heights, giving our sloths plenty of room to explore, hang, and find their favorite sleeping spots up high.
Climate-Controlled Comfort
Temperature and humidity are carefully monitored around the clock. Two-toed sloths need tropical warmth because they cannot regulate their body temperature the way most mammals can. The habitat stays between 75 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit with humidity above 50%, ensuring their specialized gut bacteria stay healthy and active.
A Balanced Diet
In the wild, two-toed sloths feed on leaves, buds, fruits, and the occasional insect. At Majestic Meadows, our sloths enjoy a carefully prepared diet of high-fiber leaf-eater biscuits, fresh leafy greens, squash, zucchini, green beans, sweet potatoes, and seasonal fruits to keep them healthy and happy.
