Meet Marisa & Kix the Mini Mule
Meet Marisa with Kix, our 17-year-old miniature mule. Kix joined our farm family last year after being loved and cared for by the same family for many years. When they reached a point where they sadly could no longer care for her due to personal health reasons, finding Kix a wonderful place to spend the rest of her life was incredibly important to them. We were more than happy to welcome her here and continue giving her all the love, care, and attention she’s always known.
Marisa works with and cares for Kix, and she will happily tell you exactly how she feels about her.
“Kix is the absolute BEST mule you will ever meet!! She is so sweet and full of so much love, and will LOVE scratches if you spend some quality time with her. If I’m ever having a hard day, Kix is the girl I turn to for love and affection. I’m beyond blessed to work with and care for a beautiful angel like Kix!”
— Marisa

Fun Facts
Half donkey, half horse.
A mule is a cross between a male donkey and a female horse, so Kix gets characteristics from both.
Mules are built to last.
Mules are known for their long lives, and they often outlive horses by several years.

You can meet Kix and give her some of those famous scratches on your next Self-Guided Farm Tour visit.

October at the Farm
Halloween on the Farm Starts October 16
Daytime or After Dark
Both attractions are open on all eight dates. What changes is how intense they are, and that depends on when you come. Costumes are encouraged, and trick-or-treating is completely optional.
● Earlier in the day — festive décor, photo opportunities, and the whole herd. The Vortex Tunnel & Clown Building and the Haunted Barn Maze are open to walk through, and the dramatic lighting, fog, sounds, and animated effects are generally not running. Much milder for younger guests.
● After dark, on the five open-late dates only — special lighting, fog, eerie sounds, animated props, and Halloween effects transform the farm, and both attractions get considerably bigger scares. Brave them, or bypass them completely. It may be too much for some younger children.

● Prices are per person. We do not offer group, senior, or child discounts.

New This Season: Pick Your Ambassador
One animal, twenty minutes, and your group only. Your group picks one of the four experiences below when you book — you are booking one, not all four. If you would rather meet all six ambassador species, including the coatis, that is our Ambassador Animals Experience, which runs approximately 60 to 75 minutes.
● Prehensile-Tailed Porcupines — spend the session with our porcupines, including Pickles and our brand-new baby porcupine, and learn how they use their tails to climb.
● Armadillos Up Close — this session may include our Southern three-banded armadillos, Artie and Athena, and our screaming hairy armadillos.
● Skunks Up Close — get to know our de-scented striped skunk ambassadors and find out why they are so widely misunderstood.
● Tortoise Spa Experience — give our African spurred sulcata tortoises a spa session, with brushing and enrichment they genuinely enjoy.
$25 per person, 1 to 6 guests, ages 5 and up. The regular session time is 3:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, reserved in advance. This is an animal-led encounter, so the type of interaction varies with each animal's comfort on the day, and holding or touching cannot be guaranteed. The Self-Guided Farm Tour is not included; you can add it for $15 per person when you book.

Visiting on a Regular Day
Halloween is eight dates. The rest of October, the Self-Guided Farm Tour runs as usual, Wednesday through Sunday, and it stays that way through November. The farm tour is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, so check the day before you make the drive.
● Farm tour: Wednesday–Sunday, 10 AM – 5 PM (last admission 3:30 PM)
● $15 online | $16.50 at the door | ages 2 and under free

The Alpaca Boutique
Dress for an October Evening
The open-late nights get cold once the sun is down. Alpaca socks, hats and scarves from the boutique are the same fiber that carries our herd through an Ohio winter, and they pack easily into a coat pocket.

WordPress was built for blogging. Your business is not a blog.
Plenty of small business sites are running blog software with a stack of plugins bolted on to make it behave like something else. It works until it doesn't — and then you're the one paying someone to figure out which plugin broke. GirschWorks Digital builds custom software for businesses that take themselves seriously. Built for what you actually do, and nothing you don't.
